Mindful Foods Nutritional Yeast Flakes are made from a variety of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, also known as brewer's yeast, grown on sugar beet molasses. The flakes are fortified during fermentation and then toasted.

They have a cheesy, nutty and savoury flavour with a creamy texture, which is why they are a staple for vegan and plant-based cooking as a dairy-free stand-in for grated cheese. The fortified flakes provide folic acid, averaging 215 micrograms per 10g serve.

Stir them through dips, soups, pasta and sauces, or sprinkle them straight over salads and hot dishes as a condiment. A little goes a long way in building savoury depth.
