Essential Nutrition Active Folate delivers folate in its already-active form, Quatrefolic® — the glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF). Unlike synthetic folic acid, 5-MTHF is the form the body uses directly, so it requires no enzymatic conversion before it can be put to work.

This makes it a considered choice for people whose folate metabolism is less efficient, including those with genetic variations affecting the MTHFR enzyme, as well as anyone whose dietary folate intake falls short. Folate is needed for healthy red blood cell production, for protein synthesis, and for maintaining normal folate levels in the body.

Each capsule provides 500mcg of levomefolic acid. Adults take one capsule daily with water, after meals, or as directed by a healthcare professional. Available in 60 and 90 capsule bottles.
