Candied orange peel makes up 12% of the bar and is backed by orange oil, so the citrus reads as fruit rather than essence. A restrained 0.1% natural chilli sits underneath — it builds gently on the finish instead of dominating.

Bennetto Natural Foods is a New Zealand chocolate maker working with certified organic, Fairtrade cocoa from family cooperatives in Peru, Madagascar and Ecuador, crafted by a Swiss chocolate maker who offsets all CO2 from production by planting timber trees in the growing regions. Every bar is certified vegan by the International Vegan Society and gluten free by Coeliac New Zealand, with no added soy, gluten or dairy, and comes in a recyclable envelope illustrated with native birds that doubles as gift wrap.
